Job summary

RiverRidge Limited seeks a Recycling Operative for the day shift at our Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) in Portadown. The role operates on a weekly rotation between 6am-3pm and 2pm-11pm, Monday to Friday with Saturdays as required.

Responsibilities include sorting recyclable and non-recyclable materials, maintaining high quality and recovery rates, and complying with health and safety standards. Bankmans training, strong organisational and teamwork skills are desirable.

Qualifications

• Experience in waste management or recycling operations is desirable.
• Banksman training and ability to perform Banksman tasks.

Responsibilities

• Pick and segregate recyclable and non-recyclable materials in a busy MRF.
• Maximise quality and recovery rates.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements.
• Wear PPE at all times.
• Maintain daily housekeeping and handling procedures.
• Use software to support quality control and analysis of waste streams.
• Carry out other reasonable duties as directed by Supervisors/Management.
• Demonstrate good organisation and communication skills.
• Work well on own initiative and as part of a team.
• Be flexible with work hours and shifts.

Job description

Shifts: 6am-3pm and 2pm - 11pm weekly rotation

Monday to Friday (inc. Saturdays, when required)

We are looking to appoint a Recycling Operative for the day shift in our Materials Recovery Facility (MRF), at our RiverRidge site in Portadown

Main Duties and Responsibilities to include:

• Responsibility for picking and segregating both recyclable and non-recyclable materials within a busy MRF.
• Ensure quality and recovery rates are maximised
• Ensure compliance with statutory and company obligations, & Health & Safety.
• Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
• Ensure daily housekeeping rules are adhered to at all times.
• Adhere to the principles of Manual Handling at all times.
• Using software to support more efficient methods of quality control /analysis of our waste streams/waste process
• Any other duties as deemed reasonable by Supervisors /Management
• Good organisational skills
