Thrive Oldham is working with a client in the Leicestershire area to recruit a Recycling Operative on an ongoing basis in the following locations: Market Harborough, Kibworth, and Lutterworth.

What you will be doing
- Assist and advise customers to dispose of waste materials at RHWS, while maximising site recycling rates.
- Ensure services are delivered for the benefit of the people of Leicestershire.
- Maintain positive and cooperative working relationships with customers and colleagues within the team and across the service.
- Ensure activities are delivered in the most efficient and effective manner possible.
- Assist and advise with the recycling and disposal of waste materials at all RHWS, offering to help customers rather than simply telling them where to deposit their waste.
- Ensure waste streams are not mixed and are separated correctly.
- Maintain and ensure clean loads of recyclates before sending to the disposal point, ensuring loads that leave the site are not contaminated.
- Maintain RHWS services in accordance with Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental management systems and follow all health and safety procedures and safe systems of work.
- Maintain compliance with all legislative requirements, including site operating and environmental licences.
- Maintain a clean and tidy work environment.
- Check permits for vans and trailers, or for permitted waste.
- Ensure maintenance schedules are adhered to.
- Enter data correctly when completing requisitions and tonnage returns.
- Identify opportunities to improve customer service and recycling rates.
- Communicate with customers, responding to queries or complaints, and build effective relationships through consistent customer contact.
- Support the achievement of all service levels, particularly targeted recycling rates at sites.
Special Factors
- The nature of the work will involve working outside of normal hours, including bank holidays, weekends and out of hours.
- The job holder may work at various locations beyond their designated base.
- The job holder may be required to attend training courses, conferences, seminars or other meetings as required by training needs and service requirements.
- Expenses will be paid in accordance with the Local Conditions of Service.
Candidates must be able to drive and have their own vehicle, as they will be required to cover shifts in other locations within and around Leicestershire, including remote sites.
Working hours: 9:00 am – 7:00 pm (including weekends) – 4 days on, 2 days off.
Pay: £14.00 per hour.
