Job description

The opportunity and what makes Community Integrated Care a great place to work

Great recruitment changes lives. Help us find the people who make that happen.

At Community Integrated Care, we believe brilliant care starts with brilliant people. That’s why we’re looking for a passionate, creative and proactive Recruitment Specialist to help us attract and recruit values-driven people who can make a genuine difference.

This isn’t a role where you’ll simply post adverts and wait for applications.

You’ll take ownership of recruitment across your region, developing innovative attraction strategies, directly sourcing candidates, building local talent pipelines and partnering with hiring managers to make sure we attract the right people, in the right places, at the right time.

If you love recruitment, enjoy solving hard-to-fill challenges and want your work to have real purpose, this could be the opportunity for you.

This is a hybrid full time permanent role with travel regionally around the Cumbria area to services, local job centres and job fairs and attendance at our head office in Widnes required at least twice a year so our ideal candidate will be based in Cumbria or surrounding areas.

You will ideally hold a full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle or be happy to travel regionally using public transport.

What is The Deal for you?
  • Flexibility! You can work your full-time hours over 4 days and enjoy a long weekend or work over 5 days to accommodate your other commitments.
  • Benefits: Retail discounts, holiday discounts, cycle to work scheme and travel discounts through our benefits app.
  • Best Lives Possible: You'll be working for an award winning charity who is passionate about ensuring our colleagues and the people we support lead the best lives bolder
  • Development: We'll work with you to develop your career or to learn and experience new things. We're passionate about developing our people!
  • Dare to Learn: Access to our amazing online training platform where you can upskill taking a variety of courses and qualifications.
  • Support: From our Employee Assistance Programme (available 24/7), financial support options, and wellbeing fund you'll have the support available to lead an easier (financial) life.

Who you’ll be supporting & more about the role:

As our Recruitment Specialist, you’ll be the recruitment expert for your region, providing practical advice, support and challenge to hiring managers while delivering an exceptional experience for every candidate.

What you'll be doing:
  • Create engaging, inclusive and person-centred job adverts that bring our opportunities to life.
  • Develop innovative local and regional attraction strategies, particularly in locations where recruitment is challenging.
  • Proactively source and engage candidates rather than relying solely on applications.
  • Screen candidates and manage them through the recruitment journey, keeping communication timely, personal and engaging.
  • Coach and support hiring managers on inclusive, fair and effective recruitment and selection.
  • Help candidates understand the reality of working in social care through interviews, conversations and service visits.
  • Build relationships with colleges, universities, funded providers and other community organisations to create sustainable local talent pipelines.
  • Develop recruitment campaigns, events and social media activity to showcase Community Integrated Care as an employer of choice.
  • Identify opportunities to convert agency workers into permanent colleagues, helping reduce our reliance on agency staffing.
  • Use recruitment data, management information and labour-market insight to identify trends, challenges and new opportunities.
  • Support recruitment activity for new services and mobilisations, researching local labour markets and developing attraction plans in new or difficult-to-recruit locations.
  • Contribute ideas and best practice to continuously improve our recruitment processes, systems, careers website and overall candidate experience.

About you:

We’re looking for someone who understands that great recruitment is about much more than filling vacancies.

You’ll be curious, commercially aware and creative, with the confidence to build strong relationships with hiring managers while keeping candidates and the people we support at the heart of your decisions.

What we’re looking for:
  • Experience working within an in-house, agency or high-volume recruitment environment.
  • Strong direct sourcing and candidate attraction skills.
  • Experience developing creative solutions for difficult-to-fill vacancies.
  • Excellent candidate management and communication skills.
  • Confidence partnering with and influencing hiring managers.
  • The ability to write engaging recruitment advertising and attraction content.
  • An understanding of inclusive recruitment and unbiased selection practices.
  • Confidence using recruitment data and market insight to inform decisions.
  • Strong organisation skills with the ability to manage multiple vacancies and priorities.
  • A proactive mindset. You’ll spot recruitment challenges and take action rather than waiting for candidates to come to you.

Experience within social care, healthcare, charity or another high-volume recruitment environment would be valuable, but your recruitment expertise, creativity and values are just as important.

Why Community Integrated Care?

This is an opportunity to use your recruitment experience somewhere it genuinely matters.

The people you attract could go on to build long-term careers supporting people to live the best lives possible. That means every successful campaign, candidate conversation and appointment has the potential to make a real difference.

You’ll also have the opportunity to shape how we recruit locally, experiment with new attraction approaches, build external partnerships and contribute to the continued development of our wider recruitment service.

Ready to make recruitment mean more?

If you’re a recruiter who loves finding great people, enjoys thinking differently about candidate attraction and wants to work for an organisation where recruitment has a genuine social impact, we’d love to hear from you.
