Recruitment Consultant - Catastrophe Modelling, Exposure Management & Analytics

City of London - EC3A 3DH

Hybrid (Mon, Tues & Thurs in Office)

About Arthur

Arthur is your trusted partner in search and recruitment for the insurance industry. We elevate careers by bringing together forward-thinking businesses and brilliant professionals.

Built on the foundations of transparency, quality and integrity, our consultative and solutions-focused approach enables our experienced recruitment specialists to deliver an excellent service every time.

For more than 20 years, Arthur has specialised exclusively in the insurance market. We work with over 150 insurance businesses and have developed one of the strongest client and candidate networks across the London and Lloyd’s markets.

Our ambition is to set the standard for the future of insurance recruitment. We go beyond transactional recruitment to build long-lasting relationships in which our clients, candidates and people can thrive.

Our CAT Team

Arthur’s Catastrophe Modelling, Exposure Management and Analytics team is one of the most established specialist recruitment teams operating within the London insurance market.

The team partners with insurers, reinsurers, Lloyd’s syndicates, brokers, consultancies and technology businesses to recruit professionals across catastrophe modelling, exposure management, portfolio analytics, climate risk and natural catastrophe research.

This is a high-performing and highly respected team with strong existing relationships across the London and Lloyd’s markets, an extensive specialist candidate network and significant opportunities for further growth across the UK, Europe, Bermuda and the United States.

The successful person will be joining an established desk with real momentum rather than being expected to build a market from scratch. There is an active client base, a strong flow of permanent and contract opportunities and access to wider relationships generated by more than 30 insurance recruitment consultants across Arthur.

You will work alongside experienced CAT recruitment specialists who understand the market, collaborate closely and share candidates, clients and market intelligence. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to develop a long-term career in a highly specialised, relationship-led and commercially rewarding recruitment market.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Running the full 360 recruitment process within Catastrophe Modelling, Exposure Management and Analytics
  • Recruiting across the London and Lloyd’s insurance markets, with the opportunity to develop international business
  • Building long-term relationships with clients and candidates
  • Developing relationships with hiring managers, senior market professionals and talent acquisition teams
  • Headhunting specialist candidates and building high-quality talent pools
  • Managing permanent and contract recruitment assignments
  • Taking detailed job briefs and providing clients with informed market advice
  • Winning exclusive assignments
  • Achieving sales targets and consistently increasing gross profit
  • Identifying new business opportunities within existing and prospective client accounts
  • Working closely with Arthur’s wider insurance teams to identify cross-selling opportunities
  • Keeping up to date with market trends, salary movements, competitor activity and developments across the CAT market
  • Attending client and candidate meetings, market events and networking opportunities
  • Contributing to salary surveys, market reports and specialist CAT marketing
  • Developing and delivering an annual business plan
  • Helping shape the continued growth of Arthur’s CAT division
  • Supporting and mentoring more junior colleagues where appropriate
  • Working within a team that collaborates, shares knowledge and celebrates success
What We’re Looking For
  • Previous recruitment experience, ideally within catastrophe modelling, actuarial, analytics, insurance or another specialist professional market
  • A genuine interest in developing expertise within the London insurance market
  • A confident communicator who can build credible, long-term relationships
  • Strong sales, business development and negotiation skills
  • Someone who enjoys working within a specialist, candidate-short market
  • Ambitious, driven and commercially minded
  • Organised, resilient and able to manage multiple recruitment processes
  • A consultative approach with high standards of client and candidate service
  • A team player who enjoys being part of a close-knit, high-performing group
  • Someone who wants to take ownership of their market and build a long-term career

Direct CAT recruitment experience would be advantageous, but we would also be interested in speaking with successful recruiters from other specialist insurance, actuarial, data or analytics markets who are motivated to build expertise within CAT.

What Arthur Offers
  • An established specialist desk with strong existing client and candidate relationships
  • Immediate access to live permanent and contract recruitment opportunities
  • The opportunity to work in one of the insurance market’s most specialist and commercially attractive sectors
  • Market-leading commission structure
  • Clear career progression and the opportunity to grow with the CAT division
  • Early Friday finish at 1pm
  • Hybrid working and flexible working hours
  • Career development, coaching and training opportunities
  • More than 20 years of insurance recruitment expertise
  • An extensive client network across the London and Lloyd’s insurance markets
  • Opportunities to develop business across Europe, Bermuda and the United States
  • A genuinely collaborative and supportive culture that values wellbeing and success
  • The opportunity to learn from some of Arthur’s most successful specialist recruiters
  • Recognition as one of The Sunday Times Best Places to Work for four consecutive years
