Contract Type: Full Time, Fixed Term

Closing date: Sunday 12 January 2025

Do you love interacting with others, and achieving great outcomes through providing an efficient and effective service? This is a fantastic opportunity for you to develop your HR career - we'll provide you with the support and training to be successful both now and in the future. This is a great time to join us, as we redefine our recruitment strategy to improve alignment with university needs and goals.

Joining our friendly collaborative team, you'll enjoy an engaging induction, supportive daily catchups, and virtual interaction through MS Teams chat. We can also offer you a stimulating environment, with access to excellent staff benefits and facilities on our campus. We operate a hybrid working model, enabling you to work flexibly from home and in the office.

About the role

This is a busy, varied role and one that would suit someone who enjoys a stimulating work environment and having the opportunity to develop or start your career within HR.

In this role, you will provide first-line support to managers recruiting for both academic and non-academic roles and will have ownership of the full recruitment lifecycle. With full training and support provided, you will soon become proficient at each step, from advising and guiding stakeholders in the initial vacancy creation to advertising, contract creation and new starter onboarding communications.

You'll provide email and phone-based support on a whole range of queries, from setting up new vacancies, visa requirements, advertising options, setting up interviews, contracts and right-to-work checks. Using our Recruitment ATS (Stonefish) and Payroll system (iTrent), along with MS Office you will co-ordinate and administer the whole recruitment process, to deliver an outstanding experience for managers and candidates.

To be successful in this role, you will enjoy focusing on the detail, whilst being adept at multi-tasking and unfazed by the demands of multiple stakeholders. You may have experience within a busy HR Recruitment team, but crucially you will need the drive to develop your HR Recruitment skills. Other key things we will be looking for are:

  1. A positive and professional manner.
  2. The ability to deal tactfully and confidently with people at all levels.
  3. A focus on prioritising work and meeting deadlines and service level agreements.
  4. An interest in developing and maintaining an understanding of HR/Recruitment best practices and applying them to ensure HR processes are carried out effectively and with a high level of attention to detail.

Experience writing content for websites, job adverts, and profiles would be advantageous, but not essential.
