NHS Scotland is seeking an experienced recruitment professional for a one-year secondment with NHS Orkney. Flexible working, including remote options, is welcome, and you’ll support managers to attract and recruit the right people while learning the wider People Services landscape.
The role focuses on substantive vacancies, agency staffing, recruitment marketing, and exposure to HR and employee relations within a small team. Secondment arrangements and manager permission are advised.
This position is open to existing NHS Scotland candidates only.
Are you an experienced NHS Scotland recruitment professional looking for an opportunity to broaden your experience and try something a little different?
We have an exciting secondment opportunity for one year to join our small and supportive People Services team at NHS Orkney. We're open to flexible working arrangements, including remote working, so you don't need to be based in Orkney.
You'll work closely with recruiting managers, providing practical advice and hands-on support to help them attract and recruit the right people safely for their teams.
You'll also get to see the bigger picture of recruitment and resourcing, from filling substantive vacancies and supporting temporary agency staffing requirements, to attraction and recruitment marketing activity that helps us reach new candidates.
And because we're a small People Services team, the opportunity goes beyond recruitment. You'll gain exposure to HR and employee relations, helping you broaden your experience and knowledge of the wider People profession.
We're looking for someone who can apply their knowledge of NHS Scotland recruitment to our remote and rural context, bringing practical experience of JobTrain, and a good understanding of NHS Scotland recruitment processes, employment checks and best practice.
If you enjoy recruitment but want the opportunity to see more of the wider resourcing and People Services picture, this could be a brilliant next step.
The position is ideally full-time, although we would consider slightly reduced hours for the right candidate, for example reduced hours over five days.
We would recommend that you seek permission from your manager for a secondment before applying.
