Job summary

Everyone Active is offering an apprenticeship programme for an Apprentice Recreation Assistant. This 12-month work-based qualification includes both on- and off-the-job training and leads to a Level 2 Leisure Team Member qualification.

You will join a supportive team, develop communication and customer service skills, and gain hands-on experience delivering safe pool operations while maintaining high standards of cleanliness. DBS check will be completed before start.

Qualifications

• National Pool Lifeguard qualification will be gained during the course.
• You’ll need to be able to swim to a competent level.
• You’ll also achieve a swimming teacher and fitness qualification during the programme.
• This position involves day, evening and weekend work and requires an enhanced DBS check.

Responsibilities

• Supervise poolside activities and ensure customer safety.
• Assist in the setup and delivery of fitness classes and group activity sessions.
• Provide excellent customer service to all members and visitors.
• Maintain cleanliness and operational standards across all facilities.
• Support the reception and administration teams when required.

• Ensure equipment setups are completed safely and on time

National Pool Lifeguard qualification will be gained during the course so you’ll need to be able to swim to a competent level. You’ll also achieve a swimming teacher and fitness qualification. This position will involve day, evening and weekend work, including public holidays and requires an enhanced DBS check which we will complete before you start.

If invited to interview, you’ll need to complete a swim test and demonstrate the following:

• Swim 50 metres in no more than 60 seconds
• Swim 100 metres continuously on front and back in deep water, then tread water for 30 seconds
