HCA Healthcare UK is seeking a Recovery Theatre Practitioner for The Portland Hospital in London. This full-time role involves supporting patient care in the theatre, working collaboratively in a professional team to ensure high standards of recovery services. Location: The Portland Hospital
Hours: Permanent, Full time, 37.5 hours per week
Shifts: Monday to Sunday , Occasional Saturdays, 4 days per week, Early (07:30-1600), Late (12.30-21:00) and long days (07:30-21:00)

We are looking for a Recovery Theatre Practitioner to join our Theatre department. The Portland Hospital is part of the established leading private healthcare company, HCA Healthcare. Established for over 50 years.
The Portland Hospital is the only private hospital in the UK dedicated to the healthcare of women and children. We're the UK's largest private children's hospital with over 46 paediatric beds including a 10-bed intensive care unit, a neonatal intensive care unit, and a day case unit. Caring for over 40,000 children a year, we provide treatment for everything from general paediatric conditions to complex craniofacial reconstruction. We have over 175 paediatric consultants available to treat children from new-born up to the age of 18.
The four theatres at Portland provide a vibrant, exciting and professional environment where the advance equipment and technology is second to none and includes fully integrated and equipped theatres.
The theatre team comprises of Consultants and Practitioners who have vast experience and knowledge across a range of specialties. There are many complex procedures carried out daily, across a range of acute specialities, including Gynae & Obstetrics, as well as general and paediatric surgery.
What you will do:
Support with the assessment, planning delivery and evaluation of patient care.
Preparing patients and providing assistance for clinical/operative procedures while supporting across all areas of our theatres.
Monitoring Vital Signs and pain management after surgery.
Communicate effectively with patients, relatives, and other healthcare professionals, ensuring a smooth handover of care.
Maintain accurate patient records, documenting all care provided.
Ensure a safe and clean recovery environment, adhering to infection control policies
Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team

What you will bring:
Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner
Current HCPC Registration or NMC Registration / NMC Pin
Recovery experience working in an Operating Theatre.
Effective communication and strong interpersonal skills
Able to work as part of a team in an operating Theatre
