Job summary

Waythrough is hiring a Support Worker in Newton Abbot, Devon. You will join a team delivering recovery-focused support, information, and structured interventions for people with substance use and mental health challenges across South Devon.

The role involves 37 hours weekly, with a fixed-term contract and a salary of £25,877.80–£30,868.31 per year. You’ll work in a collaborative environment, conduct 1:1 meetings, group sessions and liaise with partner agencies.

Qualifications

• Experience or understanding of substance misuse and recovery.
• Ability to plan, prioritise workload and deliver to a high standard.
• Understanding of safeguarding and group work dynamics.
• Excellent communication, organisation and time management.
• Ability to work in a team with multiple organisations and use IT systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload and deliver psychosocial interventions.
• Undertake assessments, risk assessments and referrals with partners.
• Facilitate group sessions with diverse individuals.
• Coordinate with partner agencies to ensure continuity of care.
• Provide duty cover and support across services.
