Job description

Waythrough launched in October 2024 following the merger of Humankind and Richmond Fellowship. Our vision is to break down the barriers that stop people from getting the support they need to live a life they value. We tackle poverty and disadvantage in communities through mental health, drug and alcohol, housing, and related support.

We have almost 200 services around England and nearly 3,500 staff and volunteers who run them. Every year, our services support around 125,000 people.

Bringing together two large organizations is a significant task, and it will take time to fully integrate our systems, processes, and approaches. Therefore, you may notice that some jobs are still branded ‘Humankind’. We plan to fully integrate our recruitment systems next year, but for now, they remain separate.

Recovery Coordinator - Maternity Cover, 12 Month Fixed-Term

PCRS Lewisham - 55 Dartmouth Road, London, SE23 3HN

Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week.

The successful candidate will manage a caseload of adult service users in a GPSC (GP Shared Care) and Primary Care Recovery service setting, working at GP surgeries and our Lewisham office, delivering evidence-based interventions aligned with individual recovery plans. This includes liaising with team members, family, and significant others as appropriate.

As a Recovery Coordinator, you will apply your knowledge of substance misuse, deliver interventions, support harm minimization, and help set personalized recovery goals to support service users in achieving their objectives safely and supportively.

In this role, you will be expected to:
  • Collaborate with GPs and social care professionals to optimize health and wellbeing outcomes.
  • Manage an adult caseload involving OST (Opiate Substitute Treatment), alcohol, and non-opiate users, providing person-centered care.
  • Co-produce and review recovery and treatment plans.
  • Facilitate individuals' progression from engagement to self-sustained recovery.
  • Reduce alcohol/drug-related harm.
  • Support detoxification in community, inpatient, and rehabilitation settings.
  • Work collaboratively to achieve optimal health outcomes.
Ideally, you will have:
  • Experience in the Drug and Alcohol Sector.
  • Experience delivering group interventions.
