Job summary

Change Grow Live in Sunderland is seeking a Recovery Coordinator to assess and engage service users, ensuring timely access to appropriate interventions and support. The role operates across locations, with a 37.5-hour week and a fixed-term contract to June 2028.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of substance misuse issues and experience in a similar field.
• Experience of working with groups/pods and managing group dynamics.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with good IT skills.
• Proactive, able to work on own initiative with strong time management and prioritising skills.
• Good working knowledge of mental health interventions, services, and best practices.
• Collaborative team player capable of working with a range of professionals and stakeholders.
• Ability to adapt to change prioritising service users’ needs.
• Understanding information governance and safeguarding requirements.
• Willingness to learn and support development of others.

Responsibilities

• Supporting service users from entry through recovery journey.
• Providing screening, assessment, recovery planning and onward referral.
• Reducing drug and alcohol related harm in service users and community.
• Promoting involvement of carers, service users and community.
• Advocating for access to partnership services.
• Working with service users to support social reintegration and recovery-oriented lives.
• Designing and delivering group content for service users at different recovery stages.
• Facilitating debriefs and evaluating group progress with co-facilitators.
• Tailoring workshops to service users’ needs (e.g., anger management, sleep disorders).
