Job summary

Waythrough in Sheffield is recruiting a Recovery Navigator – HOPE Team to support individuals affected by substance misuse, providing immediate practical help and encouraging long‑term recovery.

You’ll work with service users, professionals and the wider community to reduce harm, prevent relapse and help people build healthier, more stable lives. A full driving licence and the ability to drive are required; 37 hours per week, Mon–Fri with one late night as required.

Qualifications

• Experience within substance misuse, recovery support or similar role.
• Compassion and kindness to provide effective support and care.
• Resilience to handle challenging situations and maintain a positive outlook.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
• Commitment to confidentiality and ethical guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Manage a varied caseload of clients and support their recovery.
• Help service users access resources to boost recovery capital.
• Work with a multi-disciplinary team and guide managers and colleagues.
• Comply with monitoring and evaluation systems and provide reports.
• Maintain accurate records per guidelines.
• Follow Code of Conduct and safeguarding policies.
• Reduce substance-related harm to individuals and community.
• Participate in supervision and reflect on interpersonal dynamics.
• Uphold data protection and confidentiality.
• Provide full range of services in outreach and in-reach capacity.
