Job summary

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust on the Isle of Wight is recruiting a part-time Peer Support Coordinator (30 hours per week). The post relies on lived experience of mental health recovery to inspire hope and practical guidance within the Acute Peer Support Team.

You will line-manage and support peers, coordinate workloads, and work with multidisciplinary teams and external partners to ensure recovery-focused peer support across localities.

Qualifications

• Personal experience of managing mental health and recovery is required.
• Ability to provide hope, empathy and practical perspective through support.
• Right to work in the UK at the time of application.

Responsibilities

• Line manage, supervise and support the Acute Peer Support Team, promoting wellbeing, boundaries and consistent practice.
• Act as a point of contact for Peer Support Workers, supporting workload balance, problem‑solving and escalation of concerns to the designated lead.
• Support induction, mentoring and ongoing development of Peer Support Workers in line with Trust expectations and scope of role.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and external partners including housing, employment, education, primary care and voluntary sector organisations.
• Promote awareness of the Peer Support Service within teams and partner organisations.
• Manage referrals to the peer support service and proactively identify individuals who may benefit from peer support.
