Job summary

Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Activity Co-ordinator (Band 3) to join a multidisciplinary ward team on a part-time basis (three days per week). You will plan, deliver and evaluate a varied programme of social, recreational and wellbeing activities aimed at promoting recovery, independence and social interaction for patients.

Qualifications

Organised and flexible, able to plan and deliver activities.
Experience building therapeutic relationships with patients is advantageous.
Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

Plan, organise and deliver a varied programme of social, recreational and wellbeing activities for patients.
Develop activities on an individual and group basis, considering patients' needs, interests, abilities and goals.
Work with Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and Healthcare Assistants to support rehabilitation.
Encourage patient participation to promote wellbeing and independence.
Provide distraction and activity-based interventions for cognitive impairment or additional needs.
Record participation and communicate relevant information to the clinical team.
Work flexibly with the ward team to ensure engagement outside of core hours.
