Job summary

The Northern Care Alliance is seeking an Activity Co-ordinator to plan, organise and deliver a varied programme of social, recreational and wellbeing activities for patients. You will work with the ward team to support rehabilitation and promote independence.

This part-time role focuses on three days per week, enabling you to bring creativity and a patient-centred approach to activity sessions, ensuring meaningful engagement for individuals and groups across the ward.

Qualifications

• English GCSE 4/C or equivalent functional skills.
• Maths GCSE 4/ C or equivalent functional skills.
• Level 2 Health and Social care accreditation.
• Previous work in a healthcare setting.
• Previous work in an IMC/ Rehabilitation setting.
• Previous experience of activity co-ordinating in a healthcare or social care setting.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organise and deliver a varied programme of social, recreational and wellbeing activities for patients.
• Develop activities on both an individual and group basis, taking account of patients' needs, interests, abilities and goals.
• Work alongside the multidisciplinary team including Nursing staff, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and Healthcare Assistants to support patients' rehabilitation.
• Encourage patients to participate in meaningful activity and promote social interaction, independence and wellbeing.
• Provide appropriate distraction and activity based interventions for patients who may have cognitive impairment or additional needs.
• Engage with patients within the ward environment to maximise opportunities for recovery.
• Build and maintain therapeutic relationships with patients, families and carers.
• Record patients' participation and engagement in activities and communicate relevant information to the wider clinical team.
