Job summary

Qualifications

• Personal lived experience of recovery from difficulties described as personality disorder or complex emotional needs.
• Experience using local mental health services as part of recovery journey.
• Completion of ELFT Peer Support Worker Accreditation Programme.

Responsibilities

• Build trusting, mutual and supportive relationships with service users.
• Promote hope, optimism and recovery.
• Provide emotional support during crises and transitions between services.
• Support service users to work toward personal recovery goals.
• Attend appointments and provide time-limited support within the community.
• Advocate for service users and involve them in treatment decisions.
• Share personal recovery strategies to benefit others.
• Support carers and help them understand service users’ needs.
• Contribute to quality improvement activities.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation.
• Recognise personal limitations and seek supervision.
