Job summary

Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Perinatal Specialist Peer Support Worker (Perinatal SpPSW) with lived experience of recovery from perinatal mental health challenges. Working within Westminster Perinatal Mental Health Services, you will inspire hope and support service users on their recovery journeys.

Qualifications

• Evidence of first person experiential knowledge of recovery from perinatal mental health challenges.
• Experience of accessing and navigating mental health services.
• Commitment to learning and continuing professional development.
• Ability to work flexibly including some evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Establish supportive and respectful relationships with people using perinatal mental health services.
• Meet, welcome and orientate service users and carers to the service.
• Model recovery processes and provide coaching to develop personal recovery plans (individual or group).
• Promote recovery principles and information sharing within the multidisciplinary team.
• Sign-post to local resources and develop links with community organisations.
• Support service users to develop Health and Wellbeing Plans and connect with family and social networks.
• Participate in assessment, planning, and review of care with the team; co-produce care and risk/safety plans.
