Job summary

The Nelson Trust is seeking a compassionate Community Connector to join our Recovery & Aftercare team. This full‑time position supports clients who completed treatment, bridging structured care and aftercare across Gloucestershire.

Salary £27,000–£28,500 per year, 35 hours per week, with a DBS check and opportunity for professional development. Countywide across Gloucestershire; a values‑driven, supportive workplace awaits.

Qualifications

• Experience in substance misuse support and needs assessments.
• Lived experience of addiction and recovery is highly valued.
• Strong safeguarding and recovery capital understanding.
• Excellent communication and listening skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct individual assessments and develop personalised recovery plans.
• Provide crisis intervention and assist clients in accessing necessary services.
• Facilitate participation in mutual aid groups and provide information on relapse prevention.
• Monitor progress, advocate for clients, involve family members, support volunteering.
• Report safeguarding concerns and support recovery coaching and peer mentoring programmes.
• Coordinate recreational activities and community events.
