The Solicitors Regulation Authority in Birmingham is seeking an experienced Records Manager to lead the records management function and act as the subject matter expert on Records and Information Management. You will shape how information is created, stored and disposed of across the organisation.

The Information Governance and Compliance Team is responsible for ensuring the SRA's compliance with the requirements of data protection legislation, as well as helping to ensure that the business follows good records and information management practice.
We are looking for an experience and proactive Records Manager to lead our records management function within the Information Governance and Compliance Team and who will serve as a subject matter expert and key lead on Records and Information Management.
This is an important role in shaping how information is managed across the organisation, ensuring compliance, improving efficiency and supporting our wider strategic objectives.
As the organisation's subject matter expert for Records and Information Management, you will provide specialist advice and guidance on the management of both electronic and paper records. You will oversee records retention and disposal practices, support business and IT change initiatives, and work closely with colleagues across the organisation to embed best practice records management principles.
This is a varied and hands on role where you will work with stakeholders at all levels to identify opportunities to improve how information is created, managed, stored, accessed and disposed of. You will help drive the maturity of our records management approach by maximising the use of existing technologies, including Microsoft 365, SharePoint and Purview compliance tools, while ensuring compliance with organisational policies and regulatory requirements.
Working as part of the Information Governance and Compliance Team, you will contribute to a range of information and data management initiatives designed to strengthen governance, improve information accessibility and support better decision-making across the organisation.
