About The Role

This is a full-time, reduced-year role: 37 hours a week, 39 weeks a year.

We are looking for a Receptionist to join our Foundation Studies Team at Joseph Priestley Campus, Beeston. This special educational provision provides learners with practical community and life skills experience and work placement opportunities within a busy campus. The Front of House position is the first point of contact for students, staff, parents, and external visitors. Responsibilities include administrative tasks supporting the Administration & Management teams, and following up on absences recorded in college systems.

Currently, approximately 180 Foundation Studies students are on site, with numbers expected to increase.

What You Will Do
  1. Provide a warm welcome to everyone on site, ensuring visitors sign in and are aware of the College Safeguarding procedures.
  2. Support the department in recording student attendance and following up on absences by contacting students, parents, carers, or Transport departments.
  3. Assist the Campus Management team to ensure smooth campus operations, support the Administrative team by sending letters and inputting data into databases and spreadsheets.
  4. Manage enquiries in person, by email, and telephone, adapting to the busy, student and customer-centred environment.
About You
  1. Extensive experience working in a busy customer service role, preferably within an educational setting.
  2. Experience with databases is advantageous.
  3. Excellent IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft and Google suite programs.
  4. Attention to detail, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  5. Experience working within SEN provision is an advantage.
