Job description

We are looking for a well organised, enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our small reception team. Reporting into the Team Leader - Curriculum Admin and Reception, in this post you'll assist in providing high standard customer service and collaborate with staff in other areas of the College to offer a responsive and integrated service to potential students, current students, visitors, and staff during evening hours. This post will include a wide range of duties, including:

  1. Support the running of the main reception during evening hours.
  2. Act as a first point of contact for students, staff, and visitors to the College.
  3. Manage incoming/outgoing post, courier services, and email.
  4. Operate the switchboard, emergency telephone, and college answer machines.
  5. Serve as the first point of contact for front line First Aider call outs, Emergency Services, Security, and the Evening Duty Manager.
  6. Ensure all inquiries are directed to the appropriate department.
  7. Undertake general administrative and support duties.
  8. Assist in welcoming visitors during events such as Welcome events, Orientation Days, Open Events, and other College functions.
  9. Maintain cleanliness and the overall appearance of the Reception area.
  10. Manage and handle lost property handed in at Reception.

You should be well presented, friendly, and welcoming, with the ability to work well under pressure. Organisation skills and excellent customer service skills are essential. The role requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

The ideal candidate will want to build on their existing 'front of house' reception experience and utilize their professional and interpersonal skills, as this role is key to our customer service and the image we present at Reception.

Cambridge Regional College offers an exciting part-time opportunity for a first-class Receptionist to join our friendly reception team at our Cambridge Campus. The position is part-time (12 hours per week), permanent, during term time only. The salary is £6,628 per annum (equivalent to a full-time salary of £23,519 per annum), plus staff benefits.
