Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is looking for a Receptionist/Administrative Assistant in Ophthalmology to support the department across the MSE. The role covers Orsett Hospital, Southend Hospital, with occasional visits to Tylers Ride, South Woodham Ferrers and Broomfield Hospital.

Typical duties include handling telephone and face-to-face queries, booking appointments on EPR, recording clinic outcomes, filing and scanning, and keeping patient demographics updated.

Qualifications

• GCSE level or equivalent is required.
• Good communication and keyboard skills.
• Enthusiasm and willingness to learn.
• Experience with EPR/ERS is desirable.

We have an exciting opportunity for anyone looking for a role in administration in the NHS.

This role is based over the Ophthalmology Department across the MSE.

The role is based within the administrative team and MSE based this would predominately be over 2 sites Orsett Hospital and Southend Hospital, with the occasional visits to Tylers Ride, South Woodham Ferrers and Broomfield Hospital.

There may be times that this role is cross sight covering. The role comes with some great benefits including, a very generous holiday allowance, a brilliant pension and the opportunity to work with some great people.

You need to have a can do attitude, a great deal of enthusiasm, be a good communicator and most importantly be prepared to learn. Good keyboard skills and some basic computer skills will also be required.

This role may close early due to number of applicants.

Person Specification

Knowledge and Experience

• Good understanding of EPR/ERS
• Understanding of 18week RTT legislation - NHS experience

Qualifications

• Educated to GCSE level of equivalent
• English and Maths qualifications
