Progression Solicitors Limited in Ulverston/Barrow-in-Furness is seeking a friendly Receptionist & Front of House to be the first contact for clients, visitors and callers. The role combines reception duties with administration support to ensure a smooth day-to-day office function.

Job Title - Receptionist / Administration Support
Location - Ulverston / Barrow-in-Furness
Hours - Full time (9am-5pm Monday to Friday), part-time considered
Salary - Based on experience

We are looking for a friendly, professional and highly organised Receptionist & Front of House team member who will be the first point of contact for clients, visitors and callers, creating a warm and professional first impression while ensuring the reception area and day-to-day front-of-house function runs smoothly.

The role will suit someone who enjoys working with people, is confident communicating with a wide range of individuals and can remain calm and organised when managing competing demands.

The successful candidate will work closely with solicitors, support staff and the wider administration team to provide an excellent client experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Welcome clients and visitors to the office in a warm, professional and helpful manner.
  • Ensure all visitors are greeted promptly and directed to the appropriate member of staff.
  • Handle incoming telephone calls professionally, efficiently and courteously.
  • Take accurate messages and ensure they are passed to the appropriate person promptly.
  • Manage client arrivals for appointments and meetings.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism when dealing with clients and sensitive information.
  • Receive, sort and distribute incoming post and deliveries.
  • Prepare and send outgoing post and courier items.
  • Assist with scanning, photocopying, printing and general administrative tasks.
  • Assist with general office administration as required.
  • Support colleagues across the firm during busy periods.
Required Skills:
  • Has previous experience in a reception, front-of-house, customer service or administrative role.
  • Is confident and professional when dealing with people face-to-face and over the telephone.
  • Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Is organised and able to manage competing priorities.
  • Has a calm and positive approach, particularly when the office is busy.
  • Is approachable, friendly and genuinely enjoys helping people.
  • Has excellent attention to detail.
  • Understands the importance of confidentiality and discretion.
  • Is comfortable using Microsoft Office and standard office systems.
  • Is willing to learn and develop their knowledge of the legal environment.
  • Works well as part of a team and is happy to support colleagues when required.

Previous experience within a legal environment would be advantageous but is not essential. We are particularly interested in people who demonstrate excellent customer service skills, professionalism and a willingness to learn.
