Job summary

Teaching Personnel Ltd. in Cardiff is seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Reception pupil from January. You will become a trusted role model and help the child build confidence, independence and social skills in the classroom environment.

This role involves daily 1:1 support, building positive relationships, and using play-based learning to promote engagement, behaviour, and developmental progress within a welcoming primary school setting.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in any setting is desirable.
• Patient, calm and caring approach with young learners.

Responsibilities

We are working with a welcoming and supportive primary school in CF10 that is looking for a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Reception-aged pupil from January. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is nurturing, resilient and passionate about helping young children thrive during the most important stages of their development.

This role is much more than sitting alongside a child throughout the day. You'll become a trusted adult, a positive role model and a key part of helping a young learner build confidence, independence and social skills within the classroom environment.

What you'll be doing:

• Providing dedicated 1:1 support to a Reception pupil throughout the school day
• Building a positive and trusting relationship with the child
• Supporting learning through play-based activities and creative approaches
• Encouraging communication, engagement and participation within class activities
• Helping manage emotions and promoting positive behaviour strategies
• Supporting personal, social and emotional development
• Working closely with the class teacher, ALNCo and wider school staff to ensure the best outcomes for the pupil
• Tracking progress and celebrating achievements, no matter how big or small
