Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking an experienced Reception Teacher to join a South Harrow primary school from January 2027. You will lead an EYFS class, deliver a play-based, language-rich curriculum, and support early reading through systematic phonics.

The role collaborates with a teaching assistant, SENCO and EYFS team to assess progress, maintain learning journeys, and build strong relationships with families. Competitive PAYE pay, Outer London MPS, and flexible full-/part-time options.

Qualifications

• QTS is essential.
• Experience teaching in Reception or Nursery within a primary school.
• Thorough knowledge of the EYFS statutory framework and Development Matters.
• Confidence delivering systematic synthetic phonics and early reading.
• Skilled at planning and leading play-based, child-initiated learning.
• Experience carrying out observations, formative assessments and learning journeys.
• A nurturing, consistent approach with strong relationship-building skills.
• Awareness of SEND and EAL needs in an early years context.
