THE PIG-in the Cotswolds in Barnsley is seeking a warm, confident Reception Manager to lead our front desk team and set the tone for the guest experience. You will coordinate daily operations and ensure a consistently brilliant service across all touchpoints.

Experience as a Reception Manager or similar, with knowledge of Opera Fidelio, is essential. The role involves managing 45 hours per week over 5 days and delivering memorable stays at THE PIG.

Salary: £33,500 per annum (OTE £36,712 per hour including tronc).

Hours: 45 hours per week, over 5 days.

We are looking for a warm, confident and highly organised Reception Manager to lead our brilliant team of Receptionists.

Reception is the beating heart of THE PIG-in the Cotswolds. It is where every guest’s experience begins, where the rhythm of the hotel is coordinated and where all the small details come together to create a stay that feels relaxed, personal and effortless. As the first person to welcome our guests—and often the last to wave them goodbye—you and your team will play a huge part in how their visit is remembered.

This is much more than managing a front desk.

As Reception Manager, you will be at the centre of the hotel’s day-to-day operation:

• Connecting departments, anticipating what guests may need and ensuring everyone has the right information at the right time.
• You will have a complete picture of what is happening across the hotel and will help set the tone for the day ahead.
• You will take ownership of the smooth running of the front office, leading and developing your team to deliver a consistently brilliant guest experience.
• From arrivals, departures and room allocations to guest requests, reservations and the all-important behind-the-scenes administration, you will make sure the essentials are completed accurately and to an exceptional standard.

Of course, no two days in a hotel are ever quite the same.

Alongside the planned tasks and daily routines will be last-minute requests, special occasions, changing plans and the occasional unexpected challenge. You will need to balance both sides of the role: maintaining a calm, organised operation while being ready to adapt, make confident decisions and find thoughtful solutions when the day takes an unexpected turn.

You will be a natural communicator who builds strong relationships across every department, ensuring the whole hotel works together around the guest. Calm under pressure, full of positive energy and with an exceptional eye for detail, you will inspire your team and look for every opportunity to turn a good stay into a genuinely memorable one.

Experience of working as a Reception Manager or within a similar role is essential, along with knowledge of Opera Fidelio.
