Job summary

Brownlow Primary School in Melton Mowbray is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to support a Reception class in Early Years on a fixed-term basis until 20 August 2027. The role is term-time only (39 weeks) with five inset days; hours are to be discussed with the school.

You will assist teaching and learning activities, supporting individuals or small groups. Experience with SEN and safeguarding knowledge are essential; NVQ Level 2 in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent, and Level 2

Qualifications

• Experience of working with children with SEN and knowledge of Child Protection and Health and Safety policies are essential.
• NVQ Level 2 in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent is desirable or in progress.
• Level 2 qualifications in Maths and English are essential, or currently working towards.

Responsibilities

• Provide support for teaching and learning activities.
• Support whole class learning activities or individuals or small groups to reinforce new skills.
• Work under the guidance of the class teacher as part of a whole school team.
