Job summary

Blockchain is seeking a Backend Engineer to help power its cryptocurrency trading platform in London. You will design, build, and operate backend services in Kotlin and Python, delivering robust order management, market data processing, and real-time streaming APIs for clients across web and mobile.

You will collaborate with product, frontend, and trading teams, focusing on latency, scalability, and observability.

Qualifications

• Backend experience building scalable services in Kotlin and/or Python.
• Designing REST APIs and real-time streams with WebSockets.
• Knowledge of SQL and cloud platforms (AWS).

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate backend services powering trading products.
• Develop order management, market data processing, and trade lifecycle handling.
• Build REST APIs and WebSocket streams for real-time data.
• Collaborate with product, frontend, trading teams to adapt platform features.
• Ensure high availability, low latency, and reliability of services.
• Contribute to architecture discussions and maintainable code.
