Mustard Systems is seeking a skilled software developer to design and implement Python-based trading systems and high-density UIs. You will ingest high-volume market data, ensure low-latency processing, and contribute to production support and cross-team collaboration.

Qualifications

• Strong software development background and strong Python experience.
• Degree in Computer Science or a numerical subject from a top university.
• Exceptional communication skills for conveying complex technical ideas to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong decision-making skills and the ability to balance innovation and practicality.

Responsibilities

• Develop Python and asyncio event-driven trading systems ingesting high-volume market messages from Kafka.
• Build high-density trading UIs with real-time websocket updates.
• Improve observability with latency metrics, structured logging, tracing, dashboards, heartbeats and alerts.
• Design and build features aligned with business goals delivering high-quality code with measurable value.
• Review and test teammates’ code for functionality, maintainability, performance, and quality.
• Own the team’s software in production, maintaining stability and addressing issues quickly.
• Collaborate with traders and quants to design and implement solutions to business problems.
• Participate in out-of-hours support for software systems.
• Take ownership of software lifecycle from design to production support.
