Job summary

TechShack is seeking a backend engineer to join the team behind the trade systems. You will work on production Python code, ETL pipelines, deployment tooling and data quality frameworks, while also running the firm's on-prem Linux estate, monitoring and pager rotation.

Trading-focused environment with a small team close to the users; a background in trading is preferred but not required, making this a role centered on building reliable, low-downtime systems rather than scripting.

Qualifications

• Shipped Python into production.
• Experience running systems where downtime is costly.
• Experience with on-prem infrastructure.
• Familiar with containerisation, configuration management and infrastructure as code.
• Experience with mid/back office systems is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on Python within internal apps, ETL, data pipelines, deployment tooling and CI/CD.
• Run the on-prem Linux estate, monitoring and pager rotation.
• Collaborate closely with internal users who rely on the build.
