Job summary

IonQ Oxford Ionics is seeking a Systems Software Engineer to join the Runtime Software team in Oxford, UK. You will implement real-time control system behaviours alongside experimental scientists, building abstractions to enable fast iteration and scalable growth of our quantum computing platform.

You will help shape the core Rust libraries and execution environment that transform hardware into fault-tolerant quantum systems, working with cross-disciplinary teams to enable groundbreaking

Qualifications

• Expert programming skills in a systems programming language.
• Ability to quickly iterate on low-level code in a collaborative environment.
• Interest in or experience with Rust.

Responsibilities

• Develop abstractions over real-time control hardware.
• Support the delivery of a control system with nanosecond precision.
• Contribute to the core execution model for quantum computers.
• Improve APIs used by internal users.
