Job summary

WSP in the UK & Ireland is expanding its UK flood forecasting capability within Sustainable Water Management and is seeking experienced flood forecast modellers and hydrologists at all levels. You will deliver real-time modelling projects across the UK and internationally, mentoring juniors and contributing to service growth.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of UK flood forecasting techniques and tools.
• Experience delivering real time models for UK statutory bodies (EA, SEPA, NRW, DfI).
• Commercial awareness and bid proposal experience.
• Ability to engage confidently with clients and stakeholders.
• Excellent communication, technical review and analytical skills.
• Chartership or commitment to achieving it.
• Experience with non-real-time modelling is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and lead flood forecast modelling and hydrology studies.
• Prepare model boundaries, perform rating reviews and tests.
• Quality assurance and independent technical reviews of forecast products.
• Produce clear client and public deliverables and visualise data.
• Support development of WSP flood forecasting service offering.
• Mentor junior modellers.
• Support bid proposals and develop innovative solutions.
• Manage project delivery including commercial and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with UK and international teams.
• Promote safety in line with policies.
