Job summary

WSP is expanding its UK flood forecasting capability within the Sustainable Water Management team and seeks experienced flood forecast modellers and hydrologists. You will contribute to real-time modelling projects across the UK, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and mentoring junior modellers.

The role offers opportunities to lead studies, develop innovative forecasting approaches, and engage with national and international teams while supporting major infrastructure and government

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of UK flood forecasting techniques and tools.
• Experience delivering and reviewing real-time models for UK bodies such as EA/SEPA/ NRW.
• Commercial awareness and proposal development experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and lead flood forecast modelling and hydrology studies using Flood Modeller, PDM and hydrodynamic routing.
• Prepare and review model boundaries, undertake rating reviews and performance testing.
• Carry out quality assurance and independent technical reviews of forecast products.
• Produce clear client/public facing deliverables and visualise complex data.
• Support or lead bid proposals and develop innovative solutions for clients.
• Manage project delivery including commercial, financial and stakeholder aspects.
• Collaborate with UK and international WSP teams.
• Promote a safety first approach in line with WSP policies procedures.
