Job summary

Zurich is looking for a Real Estate Underwriter to join our Manchester team. You will work in a hybrid setup, with 2–3 days in the office and flexible arrangements including part-time or job share, to deliver excellent customer outcomes and grow expertise in underwriting.

You’ll be supported by experienced colleagues while building lasting broker and customer relationships and contributing to pricing decisions and risk assessment.

Qualifications

• Underwriting experience in Real Estate or Property is advantageous.
• Open to candidates starting underwriting careers.
• Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.
• Proactive with ability to manage a varied workload.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to assess and evaluate risk effectively.

Responsibilities

• Support underwriting and financial objectives in line with business plans.
• Collaborate with colleagues and Line of Business representatives to support referrals and needs.
• Assess opportunities to ensure alignment with underwriting appetite and strategy.
• Evaluate and price risks with guidance from experienced underwriters.
• Make well-reasoned underwriting decisions and provide pricing recommendations.
• Build strong relationships with brokers and customers through meetings and visits.
• Act as a key contact for customers delivering excellent service throughout the underwriting process.

What will you be doing?

Supporting the delivery of underwriting and financialobjectivesin line with business plans.

Working collaboratively with colleagues and Line of Business representatives to support referrals and business needs.

Assessing opportunities to ensure they align with our underwriting appetite and business strategy.

Evaluating and pricing risks accurately, supported by experienced underwriting colleagues.

Making well-reasoned underwriting decisions and providing clear recommendations on pricing.

Building strong relationships with brokers and customers through regular meetings and visits to understand their risks and insurance requirements.

Acting as a key point of contact for customers and delivering excellent service throughout the underwriting process.

PreviousReal Estate or Property underwriting experience would beadvantageous, but we are also open to candidates looking to build a career in underwriting.
