THE SEARCH:

Altus Partners has partnered with a leading US Real Estate Investment Management firm seeking a business modelling professional to join the portfolio management team. The company is experiencing growth and aims to expand its team in London. The role involves providing valuations and modelling of the European portfolio, working alongside the Head of the team and collaborating with the deals team and senior executives in Europe and the US.

The role includes supporting valuations and portfolio analysis for the European Real Assets portfolio, including analytics and asset performance evaluation. It extends the asset management, portfolio management, and finance teams to support valuation processes and transactions.

The business can sponsor in the UK.

THE ROLE:

The position involves valuation and portfolio analysis of current assets, improving asset performance throughout their lifecycle, and developing business models for European real estate assets.

Responsibilities:

  1. Support the valuation process by building and updating financial models and performing analysis.
  2. Update cash flow models with assumptions on leasing, rental income, expenses, and capital expenditures.
  3. Complete quarterly or monthly valuation cycles.
  4. Coordinate with portfolio companies to obtain asset-level information.
  5. Analyze market conditions to inform model assumptions and asset valuation.
  6. Provide analysis of cash flow and valuation movements.
  7. Calculate investment returns and project investor distributions.
  8. Conduct industry, market, and asset sector research.
  9. Participate in global valuation committees and report on outcomes.
  10. Liaise with external valuation firms and advisors.
  11. Engage with external consultants and investors to provide documentation.
  12. Assist with ad hoc requests and projects.

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Proficiency in financial cash flow modelling.
  2. Strong MS Office skills, especially Excel.
  3. 1-3 years of experience in valuations, financial analysis, or portfolio management.
  4. Qualified accountant preferred but not essential.
  5. Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
  6. Attention to detail and ability to work independently and in teams.
  7. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  8. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  9. Knowledge of real estate is preferred.
  10. Experience with VBA, Python, Power BI, or similar is a plus.
