Job summary

Novus in Wetherby is hiring a Learning and Skills Worker to support learners, including phonics and reading interventions, in both classroom and workshop settings. The role requires engaging learners, delivering one-on-one support, and working collaboratively with teaching staff to raise attainment.

The position is permanent, full-time (37 hours per week) with a competitive salary and pension, plus benefits. DBS checks are part of safeguarding.

Qualifications

• Hidden Difficulties Level 2 or equivalent (or be willing to work towards within an agreed timeframe)
• Level 2 qualifications in Literacy and Numeracy (or be willing to work towards within an agreed timeframe)
• Achievement of performance targets
• Accurate and timely reporting
• Positive team working

Responsibilities

• Support learners one-on-one and in small groups to improve learning outcomes.
• Provide effective support to teachers within classroom and workshop environments.
• Contribute to an inclusive, nurturing learning environment and help learners reach their potential.
