Job summary

Millbank Holdings Ltd in North Wales is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join its engineering team. You'll provide reactive and planned maintenance across sophisticated machine tools and production equipment in a large-scale manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • Time-served engineering qualification or recognised equivalent.
  • Proven experience within machine tool maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding experience.
  • Experience using CNC machine controls as part of the fault diagnosis process.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical schematics.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work a rotating shift pattern.

Responsibilities

  • Provide first-line maintenance support for machine and equipment breakdowns.
  • Diagnose and rectify electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic faults.
  • Interrogate machine control systems using engineering drawings and schematics.
  • Install and maintain three-phase power supplies and support new equipment commissioning.
  • Carry out spindle, drive and auxiliary equipment replacement and repair activities.
  • Complete planned preventative maintenance activities in line with the maintenance schedule.
  • Perform machine alignment, repair and optimisation activities.
  • Support spare parts management and maintenance inventory control.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and associated documentation.
  • Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, efficiency and overall maintenance performance.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental standards.
  • Support and mentor less experienced team members where required.

The Opportunity

Due to ongoing investment and continued growth, a leading advanced manufacturing organisation is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join its established engineering team. Your duties and responsibilities will be:

You will have the following qualifications & experience:
  • Time-served engineering qualification or recognised equivalent.
  • Proven experience within machine tool maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding experience.
  • Experience using CNC machine controls as part of the fault diagnosis process.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical schematics.

It’s great if you also have the following
  • Experience working with Siemens 840D control systems.
  • Knowledge of large CNC machining centres and 5-axis milling machines.
  • Understanding of fabrication, machining and metal treatment processes.
  • Experience supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Previous mentoring or coaching experience.
  • Experience within a highly regulated manufacturing environment.
The setting for the role

Based within a large-scale advanced manufacturing facility in North Wales, this role operates on a 24/7 shift pattern averaging 42 hours per week. You will join an experienced maintenance team responsible for supporting critical production machinery and ensuring maximum equipment availability in a fast-paced, technically demanding environment.
