Job summary

Little Sticks Forest School is seeking a motivated Forest School Practitioner to join our outdoor education team across three woodland sites near Wigan. You will support delivering sessions, preparing activities, and helping run a new site opening between Preston and Blackburn from Summer 2027.

Ideal candidates are Level 3 qualified, or Level 2 with a view to complete Level 3, and have experience running Forest School sessions.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Forest School Practitioner preferred.
• Alternative: Level 2 Forest School Practitioner or Qualified Teacher Status, with potential to complete Level 3 in the future.
• Experience running Forest School sessions is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and delivering Forest School sessions across woodland sites.
• Help manage activities for a new site opening between Preston and Blackburn.
• Engage children with outdoor learning, play and woodland crafts.

We are a Forest School set in 2 fantastic woodland locations either side of Wigan. We have a site in Aspull and a 2nd site on the grounds of Greenslate Farm, Wigan. We are outside from 8am–5pm so you must LOVE the outdoors!

We are opening a new 3rd site between Preston and Blackburn that is likley to be fully open from Summer 2027. We will have full time and part time vacancies available across all 3 sites and can consider positions for candidates wanting to start from January 2027 onwards.

Ideally you will be a Level 3 Forest School Practitioner looking to be involved in all aspects of running a Forest School. We would also consider candidates who do not hold Level 3 FS (must be Level 2 early years practitioner or hold qualified teacher status) but who would consider completing it in the future and have experience of running/attending Forest School sessions

Competitive salary (dependent on qualifications and experience). Ideally this is a full time role Monday to Friday but we may also have a part time role at our Greenslate Farm site to cover Thursday & Fridays
