Job summary

BaxterStorey operates a newly opened café within the JCB World Headquarters, Rocester. We are seeking a friendly, reliable General Assistant to deliver excellent customer service, prepare beverages and food, and keep the café clean and well-stocked.

You will work Monday to Friday, 8:30am–4:00pm, with opportunities to develop within a growing team and benefit from BaxterStorey’s training and wellbeing programmes.

Qualifications

• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
• Basic food preparation experience.
• Understanding of food hygiene and safe working practices.
• Reliable and punctual.
• Previous café, coffee shop or hospitality experience.
• Experience using tills and handling customer transactions.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve hot and cold beverages including barista-style coffees, teas and speciality drinks.
• Prepare and serve toasted sandwiches, light snacks, cakes and confectionery items.
• Operate the till and handle cashless transactions accurately.
• Maintain attractive food and beverage displays throughout the day.
• Monitor stock levels and communicate replenishment requirements.
• Ensure food safety, allergen and health & safety standards are followed at all times.
• Complete daily cleaning schedules and maintain a clean café environment.
• Open and close the café independently.
• Provide a warm, welcoming and professional service to all customers.
• Promote products and upsell where appropriate.
• Report any maintenance, equipment or operational issues to management.

Job Description

We are looking for a friendly, reliable and customer-focused General Assistant to operate our newly opened café within the factory area at JCB World Headquarters. Working independently, you will be responsible for delivering excellent customer service, preparing and serving a range of food and beverages, maintaining high standards of cleanliness, and ensuring the café is fully stocked and ready for service each day.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys engaging with customers and takes pride in creating a welcoming café environment.
