Job summary

Fawkes & Reece is seeking a Site Manager to lead a £2.8m CAT B fit-out in Maidenhead, Berkshire. The project runs for 24 weeks, kicking off in mid-October, with strong reporting lines to a visiting Contracts Manager.

You will oversee day-to-day site operations, enforce safety, coordinate with subcontractors and clients, and ensure quality and timely delivery on a commercial fit-out.

Qualifications

• Experience in site management on fit-out projects.
• Proven track record with carpentry / joinery background is valued.
• Ability to understand programmes and use scheduling software.
• Experience running commercial fit-out projects as Site Manager.

Responsibilities

I've had a call this afternoon from a good customer of mine and he's asked me to find a Site Manager to lead the delivery of a £2.8m CAT B fit out based in Maidenhead, Berkshire.

About the role:

The project kicks off in the Mid-October and will run for 24 weeks, we will need you to lead the delivery on this sole project whilst reporting back to a visiting Contracts Manager.

Responsibilities for the Site Manager:

• Oversee day-to-day operations on construction sites.
• Enforce health & safety protocols, manage risks, and address any issues promptly.
• Coordinate with various stakeholders, including subcontractors, suppliers, and clients, to keep the project on track.
• Maintain quality standards by monitoring workmanship, materials, and adherence to specifications.
• When challenges arise, you will find solutions to keep the project moving forward.
• Effectively communicate by liaising with team members, report progress, and address concerns.

The ideal Site Manager must have:

• Longevity in roles with some of the contractors in the industry
• Major experience in carpentry / joinery
• Understanding of programmes and ability to handle programming software competently
• Experience successfully running fit out projects as a Site Manager on commercial projects
• Interpersonal skills so you can get on with the rest of the team
• SMSTS, First Aid, Fire Marshall and Black Card/NVQ Level 6 certs
