Job summary

Carbon60 is seeking an experienced Construction Manager for a major industrial megaproject in the UK. You will oversee on-site construction activities, manage multidisciplinary teams, and ensure delivery safely, on time, and within budget.

Working with engineering, project delivery and stakeholders, you will drive health, safety and quality standards while reporting progress and mitigating risks across multiple workstreams.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering large-scale industrial or heavy engineering construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of steel structures, fabrication, welding, and industrial facility construction.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams in complex construction environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all on-site construction activities throughout the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams across engineering, construction, logistics, and project controls functions.
• Develop, manage, and optimise construction programmes and resource plans.
• Monitor project progress against key milestones and implement corrective actions where required.

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced

Construction Manager to join a major industrial megaproject. This role will play a key part in the successful delivery of a large-scale heavy industrial development, overseeing construction activities from execution through to completion.

Working closely with engineering, project delivery, and stakeholder teams, the Construction Manager will lead site operations, ensuring the project is delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Candidate Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

• Significant experience delivering large-scale industrial or heavy engineering construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of

steel structures, fabrication, welding, and industrial facility construction.

• Proven experience leading large multidisciplinary teams within complex construction environments.
• Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Experience using construction planning and project management software such as Primavera P6 and MS Project.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, high-pressure project environments.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
• Professional project management qualifications (PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent) are highly desirable.
• Additional construction, health & safety, or engineering certifications would be advantageous.
