Job summary

Randstad CPE is recruiting a dependable general labourer for a contract role on a busy residential new build site in Sunderland. You will work alongside the Site Manager and trades to keep plots moving and support sub-contractors while upholding safety and cleanliness.

You will perform material handling, site clearing, unloading deliveries, and general labour duties as directed. The role requires previous site experience, full PPE, strong punctuality, and a proactive attitude.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a labourer on a construction site (new build housing preferred).
• Full PPE provided (hard hat, hi-vis jacket/vest, steel toe cap boots).
• Solid awareness of site health and safety around live plots and machinery.
• Based in Sunderland or easily commutable.

Responsibilities

• Assist sub-contractors and trades with moving and distributing materials across live plots.
• Sweep plots, clear construction waste, and load skips.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised site environment in line with health and safety procedures.
• Assist management with unloading and handling incoming deliveries.
• Carry out general labour and manual handling duties as directed by the Site Manager.

Working alongside the Site Manager and trade teams, you will play a key role in keeping active plots moving, supporting sub-contractors, and ensuring site safety and cleanliness standards are met daily.

Key Responsibilities:

Assisting sub-contractors and site trades with moving and distributing materials across live plots.

Sweeping out plots, clearing construction waste, and loading skips.

Maintaining a clean, safe, and

organised

site environment in line with health and safety procedures.

Assisting site management with unloading and managing incoming deliveries.

Carrying out general physical

labour

and manual handling duties as directed by the Site Manager.

The Requirements:

Previous experience working as a labourer on a construction site (New build housing experience preferred).

Full PPE (Hard hat, high-vis jacket/vest, steel toe cap boots).

Strong work ethic, excellent punctuality, and a proactive attitude.

Solid awareness of site health and safety around live plots and site machinery.

Based in or easily commutable to Sunderland (Tyne & Wear area).
