Job summary

Randstad CPE is recruiting a dependable general labourer for a contract role on a busy residential new build site in Sunderland. You will support site trades, move materials on live plots, and help maintain a clean, safe work environment.

Applicants must have a valid CSCS card, prior labourer experience on construction sites, full PPE, and a strong work ethic with good punctuality. Sunderland-based applicants preferred.

Qualifications

• Valid CSCS card is essential.
• Experience as a labourer on a construction site.
• Full PPE: hard hat, high-vis jacket/vest, steel toe cap boots.
• Strong work ethic, excellent punctuality and a proactive attitude.
• Solid awareness of site health and safety around live plots and machinery.

Responsibilities

• Assisting sub-contractors and site trades with moving and distributing materials across live plots.
• Sweeping plots, clearing construction waste, and loading skips.
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised site environment in line with health and safety procedures.
• Assisting site management with unloading and managing incoming deliveries.
• Carrying out general physical labour and manual handling duties as directed by the Site Manager.

The Role:

We are currently recruiting a dependable general labourer for a contract role on a busy residential new build site in Sunderland.

Working alongside the Site Manager and trade teams, you will play a key role in keeping active plots moving, supporting sub-contractors, and ensuring site safety and cleanliness standards are met daily.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assisting sub-contractors and site trades with moving and distributing materials across live plots.
• Sweeping out plots, clearing construction waste, and loading skips.
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised site environment in line with health and safety procedures.
• Assisting site management with unloading and managing incoming deliveries.
• Carrying out general physical labour and manual handling duties as directed by the Site Manager.

The Requirements:

• Valid CSCS card (Essential).
• Previous experience working as a labourer on a construction site (New build housing experience preferred).
• Full PPE (Hard hat, high-vis jacket/vest, steel toe cap boots).
• Strong work ethic, excellent punctuality, and a proactive attitude.
• Solid awareness of site health and safety around live plots and site machinery.
• Based in or easily commutable to Sunderland (Tyne & Wear area).
