Job summary

Expert Employment is seeking a Plant Instrument Technician to join a chemical plant support and improvement team in the Southampton area. The role focuses on instrumented systems in hazardous environments, with emphasis on maintenance, repair and reliability.

You'll participate in installation, commissioning and equipment reviews, manage spares from suppliers, and liaise with instrument, electrical and other engineers to ensure safe, compliant operations.

Qualifications

• Instrumented systems experience in chemical/ allied industries.
• Apprenticeship or traineeship scheme completed.
• City and Guilds, ONC, HNC or equivalent qualification in relevant subject.
• Hazardous area equipment training CompEx or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Instrument maintenance and repair.
• Production critical inspection and repairs.
• Installation and commissioning, equipment review.
• Order and manage spares and equipment from suppliers maintaining adequate economic stores of materials, equipment and tools.
• Liaise with instrument, electrical and other specialist engineers.
