Job summary

Heron Foods in South Shields is seeking a Duty Manager to lead daily store operations and drive performance. You will oversee team welfare, customers, stock, and store standards, stepping in as keyholder and supporting the Store Manager.

You will motivate colleagues, maintain excellent service, and help maximise sales in a fast-paced environment at a community-focused retailer. The role is 27 hours per week with progressive opportunities and staff discounts.

Qualifications

• Proven success in retail supervisory roles (Retail Supervisor, Duty Manager, Assistant Manager, Team Leader, or Shift Manager) in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
• Excellent organisational abilities and a passion for customer service.

Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate the team to deliver exceptional results.
• Ensure high standards of customer service and resolve queries effectively.
• Maintain a clean, well-presented, and fully stocked store.
• Drive sales and profitability by managing performance and efficiency.

What You'll Do:

As a Duty Manager, you’ll take on a key leadership role to ensure the store operates seamlessly. Your responsibilities will

include:
