Free instructor training course

Job summary

Cycle North is recruiting new Cycling Instructors to deliver Bikeability training in primary schools across Rotherham and Doncaster. Instructors work with children aged 9–12, helping them develop safe, confident cycling skills through playground activities and on‑road training.

This is a part‑time, term‑time role with typical hours around 18.5 per week, mainly Monday to Wednesday, with extra work possible. A free three‑day instructor training course is included, supported by pre‑course online

Qualifications

• Experience working with children is preferred.
• Comfortable cycling and outdoor activity.
• Willingness to deliver instruction in schools and on roadway sections.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Bikeability cycle training in primary schools.
• Work with children aged 9–12 to develop safe cycling skills.
• Conduct playground activities and on‑road sessions.
• Complete the instructor training course provided by Cycle North.

Cycle North is recruiting new Cycling Instructors to deliver Bikeability cycle training in primary schools across Rotherham and Doncaster. Instructors work with children aged 9–12, helping them develop safe, confident cycling skills through a combination of playground activities and on‑road training.

This is a part‑time, term‑time role, with most instructors working approximately 18.5 hours per week, mainly Monday to Wednesday. Additional work may be available depending on school demand. The position includes a free three‑day instructor training course, supported by pre‑course online learning.

The role is well suited to confident cyclists who enjoy working with children, being outdoors, and supporting active travel within local communities.
