Job summary

First Step Sports Group in the Yorkshire region is seeking a motivated Bikeability Instructor to deliver cycle training that helps children build confidence and road safety skills. The role is hands-on and active, with sessions from 8am to 3pm, and no prior instructing experience required as the Bikeability qualification is provided.

You'll assist with delivery of National Standard Cycle training, load equipment, drive between sites, and complete paperwork.

Qualifications

• No prior instructing experience required; Bikeability qualification provided.
• Sessions run from 8am to 3pm; flexible casual role.
• DBS clearance required with children's barred list information.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the delivery of National Standard Cycle training as organised by First Step Sports.
• Load equipment and drive to sessions.
• Complete course paperwork including registers, assessments, course reports, and results.
• Complete risk assessments of the trainees, cycles, and the training area (including on-road locations).
• Accountable for the safety and welfare of colleagues and trainees.
• Ensure training is delivered in line with First Step Sports' health and safety policy with an awareness of accident and incident reporting procedures.
• Enable trainees to cycle safely, promoting cycling as a means of transport and a fun, healthy activity.
• Dress professionally - In line with the First Step Sports Uniform.
• All Successful candidates will be required to participate in a full DBS clearance

Are you passionate about cycling and eager to make a positive impact in your community? We are looking for a motivated and reliable Bikeability Instructor to join our team, delivering engaging cycle training sessions that help children and young people build confidence and essential road safety skills. This is a hands-on, active role where every day brings something different, and you'll play a key part in encouraging safe, active travel across our region. No prior instructing experience is required, as the Bikeability cycle training qualification will be provided., This is a flexible casual role and sessions are delivered from 8am - 3pm.

• Positions are available for both non drivers and candidates interested in the role of Cycle Instructor/Lead Van Driver to support the delivery of sessions.

Successful candidates will be provided with the cycle instructor training qualification - 1st4sport Level 2 Award in Instructing Cycle Training (T & C's apply).

This role requires travelling between sites, ensuring all bicycles and equipment are transported safely.
