Job summary

Net Zero Careers is seeking an experienced HGV Mechanic to join a busy workshop team in Quarrington. You will inspect, maintain and repair a fleet of HGV vehicles to keep them safe, compliant and available for operation.

This is a full-time, permanent role with Monday to Friday hours and alternate Sundays, paid at £17.47 per hour with overtime at an enhanced rate.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in an HGV workshop.
• Strong knowledge of HGV inspection, maintenance and repair.
• Full UK driving licence is required.
• Own tools are required.
• Good attention to detail when completing maintenance records.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A practical and safety-focused approach to work.
• Category B or CE driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Carry out six-weekly vehicle inspections.
• Prepare vehicles for MOT testing and complete repairs.
• Undertake planned, preventative and reactive maintenance.
• Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out effective repairs.
• Complete maintenance records and paperwork accurately.
• Report faults and concerns to the Workshop Foreman or Supervisor.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised workshop.
• Work independently and collaboratively as part of the team.
• Support high standards of vehicle safety, compliance and reliability.

Working pattern: Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 6:00pm, plus alternate Sundays from 7:00am to 12:00pm

Role Overview

HGV Mechanic is required to join a busy workshop team in Quarrington.

You will inspect, maintain and repair a fleet of HGV vehicles, ensuring they remain safe, compliant and available for operation. This is a practical, hands-on position requiring previous experience within an HGV workshop.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out six-weekly vehicle inspections

To be considered for this position, you must have:

Previous experience working within an HGV workshop
