JG Pears is seeking a fully skilled HGV Technician to service and repair its mixed fleet of heavy vehicles in a well-equipped workshop near Nottingham. The role requires a City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair and substantial experience with HGVs from Scania, Volvo or DAF.
You will perform servicing, diagnostic checks and MOT prep to meet DVSA standards, maintaining accurate records while working safely in a busy workshop.
£49,920 - £56,160
JG Pears is a fourth-generation family business that grew from a livestock farm near Penistone into one of the largest names in the UK's animal by-products sector. The site at Low Marnham sits close to the Group's wider investment in the area, including a joint venture at neighbouring High Marnham building a hydrogen production facility as part of the UK's move to net zero.
We're looking for experienced, fully skilled HGV Technicians (also known as HGV Mechanics or HGV Fitters) to join the team, working across a mixed fleet from leading manufacturers including Scania, Volvo and DAF, in a well-maintained, up-to-date workshop.
Salary: £24.00 per hour (Days/Afters) or £27.00 per hour (Nights), paid monthly, plus overtime at time and a quarter after contracted hours
Location: Low Marnham, Nottingham, NG23 6SP
Working pattern: Days/Afters or Nights (full shift details below)
You'll get a varied workload across trucks and trailers from Scania, Volvo and DAF, working in a well-equipped workshop with room to build up your skills over time. Whether your background is as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic, HGV Fitter or Commercial Vehicle Technician, if you're fully qualified and experienced on heavy vehicles, we want to hear from you.
This is a fully skilled role. Applicants must be qualified and experienced in maintaining and repairing HGV trucks and trailers: candidates with only car or light vehicle experience, or without the relevant HGV qualifications, won't be suitable for this one. Due to the site's location, own transport is essential.
