Job summary

Randstad Education in Prestatyn, Wales, is seeking experienced Teaching Assistants to support pupils across local schools. Roles include 1:1 support or small group work, with flexible day-to-day supply or longer placements to suit your timetable.

You will assist with ALN requirements, work closely with teachers and SENCo, and contribute to a safe, engaging learning environment. DBS and EWC registration are preferred, with training available through Randstad Education.

Qualifications

• Experience in an education setting or youth-support role.

Responsibilities

• Work 1:1 with pupils or in small groups to boost confidence and progress.

• Assist with lunch and break duties to maintain a safe school day.
• Report concerns to the SENCo to support student well-being.

The Role: What You'll Do

• Working closely with pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups to boost their confidence and progress during lessons.
• Providing tailored support for pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) and implementing creative strategies to help them thrive.
• Partnering with class teachers and other professionals to review student progress and set up classroom activities.
• Lending a helping hand with lunch and break duties to ensure a safe, fun school day.
• Prioritizing student well-being by reporting any concerns directly to the SENCo.

What We Are Looking For

• Experience working with children is essential for this role. To be successful, you will need: Previous experience working in an education setting or a similar youth-support role.
• Proven experience supporting children with Additional Learning Needs (ALN).
• An Enhanced Child DBS check and EWC Registration (or a willingness to apply for both).
• A Level 2 or Level 3 Childcare qualification is highly desirable, though not essential.
